Quabbin Democrats
A Newsletter For Our Community
In a time when accurate information is at a premium in our political life, it is more important than ever for Democrats to have a reliable way to know what their local, area and state-wide party organizations are saying, planning and doing. Party members must also have reliable ways of communicating their opinions, needs and wants to those organizations. Communication has to be a two-way street.  To that end, the Belchertown Town Committee is initiating a web-based newsletter under the Quabbin Democrats heading. We anticipate participation in the newsletter to expand quickly to include several area towns, including (but not limited to towns surrounding the Quabbin Reservoir) Ware, Granby, Palmer, Pelham, South Hadley, Ludlow, and Orange. Future cooperative efforts may include a joint website, Facebook groups or blog sites.
Whatever the venue, our content will include:
  • News summaries of local political interest;
  • Contact information for elected officials and Democratic Party Committees in surrounding town and cities;
  • Active internet links to elected officials, state party officials and other sources to enhance information contained in the postings;
  • A forum for reader comments and suggestions;
  • Timely listings of Democratic Party activities and meetings around the area;
  • Discussion of the local impact of voting outcomes at the state or federal level;
  • Practical suggestions for every voter on how to influence the course of political events, from setting our Party platform to electing Democrats at every level of government to helping determine the fate of legislation at every level.

Your participation in setting the direction and content of  local Democratic committees is critical. You can add your voice by filling out this feedback form to help us get going in the right direction.
